The applications this year(2010 Holiday Bazaar) will be distributed first to those 2009 vendors. Returning vendors have until September 24th, any spaces remaining will be awarded to the earliest completed applications and fees paid. Fair Board member Shelly Hickman(673-2994) will assign spaces.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Kalama Community Building will be open for vendor set-up at 7 am Saturday morning, November 6th. The Bazaar will be open to the public from 9 am to 4 pm. Please use street parking for unloading only. There will be a designated vendor parking lot and shuttle to and from that lot for your convenience. At the end of the day, please finish your repacking and exit the building by 5 pm.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Bazaar is held at the community Buiding at 2nd and Elm Streets. All merchants are expected to keep their booth fully open until the 4 o'clock closing time!!!&lt;br /&gt;Please honor this commitment to the Kalama Holiday Bazaar.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Merchants are asked to contribute a merchandise sample for the Kalama Community Fair Raffle. All levels of fitness are welcome to participate in the beautiful scenic race that fits your fitness level.&lt;br /&gt;This year’s 10K Challenge will begin at the fair grounds traveling around Kress Lake to Kalama River Road, turn west continuing over the I-5 overpass toward the Columbia River, turning north along Steelscape to the Columbia River where it will circle and return toward I-5 turning south on Fishermen’s Loop toward the Kalama River where they will U-turn and head back to the fair grounds over the I-5 overpass finishing at the fairgrounds where hydration and a hearty pancake breakfast will be awaiting you.&lt;br /&gt;This year’s 5k Run-Walk will take you on a scenic walk around Kress Lake and north along a scenic route returning to the fair grounds where hydration and a hearty pancake breakfast will be awaiting you.&lt;br /&gt;10K Awards will be presented during the breakfast at the grandstand. Trophies will be awarded to the 1st Place Overall male and 1st Place Overall female. Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in all age groups. *(NO medal will be awarded to 1st place in the age category of overall winners.) Ribbons will be awarded for 4th-10th place in all age groups. The age groups are U15; 16-20; 21-30; 31-40; 41-50; 51-60; 61-70; 71+. All canned and dried food exhibits must be labeled. Label must be placed as near to the bottom front of the jar as possible. Note if citric acid or lemon juice has been added to canned tomatoes. Do not use paraffin on jams or jellies. Jams must be processed according to USDA recommendations and noted on the label. The Ball Canning Book can be consulted for accurate information and will be used by Kalama Fair judges for judging standards. The judge will be looking for a prepared product with evenly browned tops. Texture is extremely important with the right mixture of moisture and chewiness. Taste should be a good blend of ingredients. Breads should be a nice shape loaf. When yeast bread is cut into, no fragrance of yeast should be detected. Air bubbles should be evenly spaces and without large holes or tunnels. The thickening used in a pie should between runny and too thick. The bottom crust should be lightly browned and not doughy. Bring your exhibit or project to the Exhibit Hall at the Kalama fairgrounds, July 20th , from noon- 8pm.&lt;br /&gt;-Or call Shirley Lowman (673-4071) to prearrange a time.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;center&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;**Animal entries should be received before July 15th!!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/center&gt;2. Complete an exhibitor entry form and an identification tag with the help of our many volunteers. You will receive your tag, tab receipt in order to pick-up your exhibit after the fair. Exhibits will be color coded based on your age:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;li&gt;7&amp;amp; under- Peewees&lt;br /&gt;&lt;li&gt;8-11- Junior&lt;br /&gt;&lt;li&gt;12-13- Intermediates&lt;br /&gt;&lt;li&gt;14-18- Senior Youth&lt;br /&gt;&lt;li&gt;19-61- Adults&lt;br /&gt;&lt;li&gt;62 &amp;amp; Older- Seniors&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3. Fair princesses will place your exhibit into the hall and in the correct exhibit division.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;4. Exhibits will be judged in the evening on July 20th, and ribbons will be awarded. The Danish system of judging is used at all Washington State Fair Association fairs.&lt;br /&gt;This means your product will be judged on its own merit and your age category NOT against other exhibits.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;5. You can view your exhibit beginning Thursday the 21st at noon, when the Fair opens to the public.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;6.
